KCDP District 5 is hosting and invites all KCDP members, friends and family to walk with us in the Parade which attracts at least 3000 parade watchers each year. We will hand out miniature flags as we walk.
Parade participants should be dropped off at the parking lot of Farragut High School not later than 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 4. Access to the high school is available from Campbell Station Road and Kingston Pike (from West End Ave. and from the entrance drive to the high school). Due to the high number of parade participants and extremely long lines, please allow at least 30 minutes from Campbell Station Road and Kingston Pike to the high school parking area. Preferred drop off area – if you are only dropping off participants – please go to West End Avenue to the school parking lot. No need to get into circular parking lot.
NOTE: Kingston Pike will be closed from Concord Road to Boring Road (approximately 1.4 miles) starting at 8:30 a.m. Kingston Pike will re-open immediately after the parade. • The parade will travel from the Farragut High School parking lot to Kingston Pike to Boring Road. This is the parade end-point. Please make arrangements for your participants to be picked up at Farragut Towne Square (Ingles). It is helpful to arrange carpools FROM Ingles to the High School drop off point.
Additional information at: 32nd Annual Independence Day Parade
NOTE the following changes in Parade lineup information. The Town of Farragut sent out the following instructions, effective June 27, 2019. Arrival time is now moved up to 8:00 am. If in doubt as to where to park, just enter at West End Avenue and follow the Town’s staffers who will direct you.
Due to construction at the Farragut High School (FHS) parking lot, there will be only ONE entrance to the staging area for the Farragut Independence Day Parade. Parade vehicles and parade participants will use West End Ave. to access both the FHS junior parking lot with the parade lineup (parade vehicles only) and the parking area at the Intermediate/Middle School parking lot for all other parade participants. Carpooling is strongly encouraged to reduce the number of vehicles stacked and waiting on West End Ave.
Because of limited access to the staging area, participants are encouraged to arrive at the staging site by 8 a.m. As usual, participants may drop off floats or parade vehicles after 4 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3 to make it easier the morning of the parade. The parking lot will be staffed overnight.
Parents of children who are participating in the parade MUST drop off at the Intermediate/Middle School parking lot or park and walk their children to the junior lot. The only vehicles that will be allowed in the junior lot are those that are in the parade.
Because of limited access to and from the school, the parade route will now be West End Ave. to West Point Dr. and enter Kingston Pike in front of Firestone Complete Auto Care.
Construction delays at the high school were caused by June’s excessive rain.
We apologize for the inconvenience and hope everyone will bring their Independence Day spirit and patience!
